In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope, with land falling more steeply beyond site to bank of River Lyre c. 250m away. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.4m); external fosse (D 0.4m). Bank heavily overgrown; causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) to SSE. Fosse infilled on N side due to existence of modern farmyard; wall separates bank from yard. Interior used as dumping ground for field clearance material. No visible surface trace of outer bank depicted on 1904 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps and described by Bowman (1934, 605) as c. 8ft H. Called 'Lios na Giolcaighe - fort of the Broom' (ibid.).
