Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as one of three circular plantations of trees (9159; 8743) in 'Deer Park' of Tullig House; on 1936 OS 6-inch map as hachured circularenclosure (diam. c. 30m). In pasture, on steep SW-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 28m) enclosed by low scarp (max. H 1.2m) SSE->NNE, low bank to NE; low outer eroded bank (max. H 0.8m) and shallow intervening fosse (Wth3.5m) SSE->ENE. Interior slopes very steeply downhill from NE to SW. Entire site planted with coniferous trees. Possibly fort recorded by Broker (1937,49) on Michael Riordan's land as 'Beech fort, 1/4 acre, double fence, partly levelled'. Surviving banks are insubstantial; no attempt has been made to level up interior. These factors together with position of site in relation to Tullig House may suggest that this is a tree ring.
