In pasture, on E-facing slope overlooking Owennagloor River to E. According to local information, site of ringfort levelled c. 1910. New bungalow built to N of it; no visible surface trace. One of two levelled forts mentioned by Broker (1937, 49) on land of James Sullivan - 'First, 30 feet diam, single fence, in Pairc na Sceiche; levelled 1905. Second, 1/2 acre, in field called "Square"; levelled 1875; no trace now'. Second fort (8712) lies in adjoining field to SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
