Built against N face of natural limestone outcrop, ground falls steeply off behind outcrop to S and E. Random-rubble walls encase earthen core. Front elevation (H 5.9m; Wth 6.5m) faces N; arched recess (H 2.6m; Wth 2.4m; D 1.8m) with lintelled ope to rear, rear of recess filled with rubble, tall buttresses on either side of recess. Top of kiln enclosed by low wall, open to S; ramp approaches rear of kiln from W. Stone-lined funnel. (UCC)
