On level ground, c. 100m W of a stream. This fulacht fia was excavated in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. Excavation revealed a spread (c. 12m x 10m; max. D 0.25m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil much disturbed by modern field drains which extended across the spread in a NE-SW direction. Beneath the spread was a rectangular timber-lined trough (2.5m x 1.6m; D 0.37m) and immediately to the NW of it was a hearth consisting of a setting of stones. Two pits filled with burnt material were also uncovered. (O'Neill 2005, 1-47; 2006j, 60, Fermoy 4)
