In pasture, on slight eminence above flood plain of River Blackwater. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; indicated as D-shaped enclosure on 1904 OS 6-inch map; hachured E half of circular enclosure survives on edge of natural scarp on 1938 OS 6-inch map. D-shaped area (c. 40m NNE-SSW; projecting c. 20m to ESE) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.65m) NNE->SSW, with external fosse (D 0.55m). Straight edge on W side defined by low cliff face. Interior overgrown with scrub and trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
