Road bridge (Wth 7.7m; long axis NNW-SSE) over River Blackwater. Random ashlar (local sandstone) construction with rock-faced finish. Five large segmental arches, cut and dressed limestone voussoirs, limestone string course. Bluntly pointed limestone cutwaters. Parapet wall on roadside of coursed ashlar limestone, with coping of flat limestone slabs. Plaque on W parapet reads "1858/Colthurst Bridge/Watrag/Surveyor/M. Forrest/Contractor". The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
