What is recorded here

Bowman (1934, 517) recorded two standing stones c. 6m S of ringfort (12534); 'these are 15ft apart. (a) was broken, remaining part 1ft high, by 6ft 3in girth. (b) 2ft 3in by 11ft 3in girth'. No surface trace of stones to S of ringfort. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
