On top of a ridge. Depicted as hachured sub-square area (c. 30m N-S; c. 30m E-W) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, with curved NE corner and abutting farmyard to N; arc of W half of enclosure indicated on 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps, within farmyard. Levelled; bungalow built on site. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 285) as double-ramparted fort (diam. c. 35yd) on P. O'Connell's land and forming part of farmyard; 'practically all the outer rampart, and one-sixth of inner rampart levelled [with] remaining portion c. 4ft.high'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
