In pasture, on crest of ridge. Circular area (diam. 36m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.25m; ext. H 1.5m) NNW->ESE and SW->W; scarp (H 1.55m) with slight internal lip (H 0.2m) ESE->SW. Interior nearly level; raised on S side to compensate for hillslope. Field known as 'fort field' (Broker 1937, 51). Two ringforts (CO030-087---, CO030-088---) and one possible ringfort (CO030-089---) lie c. 150m to SSW, c. 120m to WNW and c. 50m to NNW respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
