In field called 'Cluain Mhor' (Broker 1937, 51), atop E-W ridge. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842, 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps; interior planted on 1904 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; arc formed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.2m) survives incorporated into field fence system SE->SW; low rise to N marks line of levelled bank. Interior (diam. c. 41m) mainly under pasture except W side which is under tillage. Shallow external fosse (D 0.2m) survives to S where field fence extends S from fort. Recorded by Broker (ibid.) and Bowman (1934, 276) as double-ramparted fort on T. O' Keeffe's land; outer rampart levelled. Two ringforts (CO030-087---, CO030-090---) and one possible ringfort (CO030-089---) lie c. 200m to SSE, c. 120m to ESE and c. 100m to E respectively.
