What is recorded here

In pasture, on gentle SE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. According to local information, levelled c. 1967. Levelled bank (Wth c. 3m) visible as differential growth pattern enclosing circular area (40m E-W; 38m N-S). Probably double-ramparted ringfort (diam. c. 34yd) recorded by Bowman (1934, 277) on D. MacSweeney's land; 'outer rampart levelled; inner rampart c. 5 ft. high'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
