In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Rectangular area (28.7m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by earthen bank on N and W sides, by barely perceptible rise on E and S sides; external fosse (D 0.4m) on W side and at E end (L c. 5m) of N side. Bank (int. H 1.35m; ext. H 1.2m) survives best to W where it is incorporated into field boundary system. Gap (Wth 3m) in N bank, 5.6m from NW corner; used as gateway. No visible surface trace of lime kiln marked at NW corner on 1842 OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
