Within the historic town (CO027-042----) of Glanworth, to the SW of 'Rock Abbey' (CO027-040----). Four undated pits were excavated in advance of a housing development in Boherash townland in 2004. All four pits were situated in trench 2, to the NW and S of an adjacent medieval hut site (CO027-200----). One pit was only partially excavated and this was associated with two stake-holes. The remaining three pits were uncovered in the NW corner of the trench and were fully excavated. These latter pits were found to be sequentially dug. (Cleary 2006a; 2007, 87-126) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
