In tillage. Discovered during ploughing in 1960; investigated by Murphy (1965). Rectangular cist (c. 0.93m x 0.43m; D 0.4m; long axis NNW-SSE) consisted of four upright slabs; slab to E projected immediately beyond cist at either end; capstone dislodged by plough; floored with single basal slab. Set into pit (1.9m x 1.3m); packing stones behind side slabs. Cist contained poorly preserved unburnt inhumation of young adult male, probably 18-19 years old. (Doody 1986, Cork No. 45; Waddell 1990, 62).
