What is recorded here

In tillage, on NE-facing slope. Roughly circular raised area (36m N-S) enclosed by scarp (H 0.8m) with shallow external fosse. Evidence for enclosing bank survives as slight internal lip (max. H 0.3m) SE->NNE; field boundary atop scarp elsewhere. Fosse best preserved to W (max. D 0.5m). Grass-covered interior slopes gently down to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
