What is recorded here

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; penannular area (36m N-S) formed by scarp (H 1.6m) survives NW->SW. Field boundary immediately to W of site removed, edge of enclosure on this side difficult to define. Site of Caherduggan Castle (CO025-01201-) shown on OS 6-inch maps as on or just outside N edge of enclosure. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
