Within W side of enclosure (10816). Grass-covered horseshoe-shaped mound (16m N-S; 13m E-W; H c. 0.65m); opening (Wth 4m) faces W. Mound composed of charcoal-enriched soil though no burnt stones observed. Shape of mound characteristic of fulacht fiadh. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 42/1976).
