On a ridge of high ground. This is the original location, as indicated by the landowner, of a standing stone which was moved to a rough quarry area to the SW. The stone (2.2m x 1.5m; H 1.6m) is irregular in plan and section. According to the landowner, a water diviner working in the area in the recent past encountered a 'rectangular chamber' beneath where the stone had originally stood. This stone is most probably that recorded in the 1930s in 'Mr. Bolster's' in Glenlohane townland and described as '3 ft. [0.91m] high by 10 ft [3.05m], by 7 ft. [2.13m]' (Bowman 2000, 28). The dimensions of the stone are atypical for this monument type and its precise nature remains to be elucidated.
