Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as roughly square area (c. 25m NW-SE; c. 25m NE-SW) defined by dotted line; shown on 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps as circular area (diam. c. 20m) defined by dotted line and marked 'Disused'. In pasture, on S-facing slope. Levelled; now evident as low raised oval area (c. 25m NE-SW); site of church (14460) to N of centre. Two blackthorn trees c. 10m to S regarded locally as marking site of burial ground. According to Bowman (1934, 406), field known locally as 'The Keel'. He adds that 'about one sixth of the surrounding fence may still be seen'; apparently some of the slain buried here after Battle of Knocknanuss in 1647 (14694) and many skeletons found here were reinterred in Buttevant Abbey (14382).
