What is recorded here

In pasture, atop ridge, looking N across Dalua River valley and S across Brogeen River valley. Circular area (57m E-W) enclosed by heavily overgrown earthen bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.15m). Shallow external fosse (D 0.2m) visible to NNE; fosse area heavily overgrown elsewhere except to N where quarrying has taken place. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 193) as single-ramparted fort in D. Jones's; 'oval-shaped, axes 62yds and 57yds'; souterrain (CO023-06302-) on SW rampart. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
