On low-lying plain with low hill rising to SW. Stretch of wall running N-S (L 4.85m; H c. 4m; T c. 1.5m); slight base batter on W side at S end; no other features evident. Castle of the Roches (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 1, 158). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
