What is recorded here

On roadway, on W-facing slope of Knockeenadara. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, with lime kiln on SW bank; as hachured circular raised area (diam. c. 40m) on 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps, truncated by road to W; scarp replaced by field fence to E on 1935 OS 6-inch map. Levelled due to widening of Cork-Dublin road; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
