Remains of early 18th-century 2-storey house, indicated on 1842 OS 6-inch map as Z-shaped in plan. Entrance front (S) of 5 bays, weatherslated; remains of central door ope (blocked), rectangular window opes (many blocked) some use curved and moulded 18th-century sills; cut-limestone cornice at eaves level. Brick gables atop random rubble stone walls, chimneys atop gables. Projection at E end of rear, contains corner brick-lined oven (0.78m x 0.4m; H 0.42m). Remains of one-roomed projection at W end of front contains corner fireplace. Ruined farm buildings to N. Cut-stone entrance piers and lodge survive to S. Described by Smith (1750, vol. 1, 233) as 'a good house'; replaced in 1814 (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 4, 145) when new house (14924) built to NE.
