Castle shown on Down Survey (1655-6) barony map on or near site of present Cahirmee House (14863). According to Grove White (1905-25 vol. 2, 19) field to E of house called 'Castle Field'. Local tradition that house is c. 500 years old suggests it may be built on site of castle.
