What is recorded here

On area of high ground covered in low scrub and deciduous trees. Depicted as hachured, roughly oval, enclosure on 1842 OS 6-inch map, with trigonometric station at centre; as hachured oval raised area (c. 38m N-S; c. 28m E-W) on 1937 OS 6-inch map; area named 'Regan's Rock Covert' on 1906 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Area heavily overgrown; low rise or mound visible with loose stones scattered across surface. Full inspection of site not possible due to overgrowth. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
