Renovated mid-18th-century 2-storey house. Entrance front (SW) of 5 bays, central rectangular door ope with cut-limestone surround, hidden behind modern porch. Windows have 18th-century limestone moulded sills and similarly shaped lintels; cut-stone cornice at eaves level. Gable-ended with chimney stacks atop gables; attic windows in gables. Central gabled stairway projection to rear; flanked by lean-to to right and longer gabled addition to left, making overall ground plan L-shaped. Farm buildings to rear. Shell of large 2-storey brick-built house c. 250m to S, built in 1875 by Crofts but burnt in 1895 when family returned to present house (Bence-Jones 1978, 281). Private burial ground (14171) 500m to S.
