In pasture, on W-facing slope, c. 200m SSE of Velvetstown House (14938) and c. 100 N of New Velvetstown House. Shown as tree ring on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured circular raised area on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Oval platform (29.4m E-W; 24m N-S) raised c. 1m above level of surrounding field. Rock outcrop at NE and N of platform. May be an estate feature. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
