What is recorded here

In deciduous plantation, c. 100m W of river. Oval mound of burnt material (7m N-S; 6.6m E-W; H 0.72m); slight indentation in S side. Drain running along NW side of site has possibly truncated mound; burnt material (D 0.6m) visible in section in drain. Redeposited burnt material noted in gap in field fence immediately N of site. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 376), who noted that 'the burned stones on the surface have been removed'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
