What is recorded here

In pasture, on gentle NE-facing slope. Circular area (30m SE-NW) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.5m) with external fosse (D 0.5m). Break in bank to E (Wth c. 2m), SSW (Wth 2.7m) and WNW (Wth 2.9m). Fosse waterlogged; pond (not depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map) has formed on NE side, extending beyond area of fosse. Interior partially overgrown with bushes; waterlogging in S half. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
