In pasture, on gentle SW-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842, 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; low rise visible in area of site. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 629) as single-ramparted fort (diam. 40yd; bank 4 to 7ft H; fosse 3ft D) on Mr O'Callaghan's land, with interior raised c. 3ft above surrounding field; on E side 'rampart curves inwards forming 3 holes, which are practically circular, the diameter of each being about 15 feet'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
