In pasture, on SW-facing slope, commanding view across Owenkeal River valley. Depicted as roughly square area (c. 20m x c. 20m) on 1936 OS 6-inch map, defined by trees and broken line. Area 15.5m E-W by 14m N-S planted with sycamore trees; field clearance material dumped around perimeter. According to local information site of 'fort'. Bowman (1934, 112) recorded levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. 18yd) on Mrs. O'Callaghan's land.
