What is recorded here

In pasture, on WSW-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1904 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. Oval area (29.6m NE-SW; 22.2m SE-NW) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.1m); external fosse (D 0.3m) W->NNE. Break in bank to ESE (Wth 2.3m) and W (Wth 2m). Rushes growing in interior which slopes down to WSW. Souterrain (CO013-02102-) a short distance to W of site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
