In pasture, on S side of stream. Oval spread of burnt material (18.7m E-W; 13.8m N-S); burnt material visible in section in stream bank. Small mound (diam. 3m; H 0.8m) at E end of spread. Trough area investigated by Bowman (1934, 713-4). Wooden trough exposed '6ft 2in long, 3ft 1in wide and 2ft 1in deep...the base was of two parts, one being 8in wide and the other 1ft 5in. The sides consisted of branches of trees, about 5in in diameter. There were five such branches at each side. The branches were hazel and still retained the bark in several places. The base was of oak. The sides projected about 2in beyond the ends, which were held in position by the sides. The sides in turn were held in position by posts at each end, which were driven into the ground' (ibid.).
