What is recorded here

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. Rectangular area (56.5m N-S; 44m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.45m) with external fosse (D 0.7m). Bank highest at NW corner; break (Wth 5m) to N. Fosse shallow to N; stream flows S-N on E side; field boundary skirts outer edge to S. Interior under pasture, sloping down gently to E; some waterlogging in E half; N half appears to be at slightly lower level than S half. Well depicted in area of fosse half way along S side on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Second moated site (CO002-038---) c. 500m to SE.
