What is recorded here

In level pasture. Triangular graveyard (c. 70m NW-SE; c. 40m SW-NE), enclosed by earthen bank with external fosse, now deepened and widened for drainage. Site of medieval parish church of Kilbolane, mentioned in Papal Taxation lists of 1291 (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 245). Remains of C of I parish church of Kilbolane (14717) at centre. Headstones date to 18th and 19th centuries; oldest noted dated 1720 (Grove White 1910-12, 250). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
