Situated on soft estuarine clays between saltmarsh and Crow Island the E bank of the Fergus estuary adjacent to the townland of Ballygirreen. A line of post-medieval posts in association with a spread of roundwood branches and a horizontal wattle panel. The roundwood and wattle panel were radiocarbon dated to AD 1665-1946 (GrN-20141) and AD 1645-1947 (GrN-20142). (O’Sullivan 2001, 296)
