Situated in the SE quadrant of the inner enclosure of Mooghaun hillfort (CL042-074001-). Excavation by the North Munster Project of the Discovery Programme in 1993 (92E0093) revealed extensive industrial activity on the hill summit. The debris indicated iron and bronze smelting, bronze casting and the manufacture of querns. A late Iron Age radiocarbon date of c. 47 BC – 113 cal AD (UB-4314) was determined.
