What is recorded here

Situated on the west bank of the Fergus estuary, adjacent to Lissan West townland. An alignment of at least 20 wooden posts (L 8m) of varying diameters and height, with narrower roundwood poles and branches in between, all angled to the NW against the force of the ebbing tide. This possibly represents a post-medieval fish-trap. (O’Sullivan 2001, Fergus estuary west 3, 219, 297) Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 20 July 2016
