On an elevated area on a low ridge, in improved pasture, overlooking Creevosheedy Bog to E. Depicted and named ‘Cloonloughaun Fort’ on all OS historic mapping. A circular area (30m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by the remains of a bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1m; Wth at top 2m; overall Wth 6.5m) E-S-NE. The bank has been reduced to a scarp (Wth 3.75m; H 0.65m) NE-E, where there is a possible entrance. The enclosing elements are eroded and denuded externally by cattle. There is no obvious trace of a fosse. The interior is dish-shaped and featureless.
