On an elevated area of a low rise, in a small rectangular field of improved pasture. Depicted and named ‘Scoobagh Fort’ on all OS historic mapping. A roughly circular area (28m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a broad bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.15m; Wth at top 1.75m; overall Wth 9.75m) W-NE. The bank is reduced to a broad scarp (Wth 4.3m; H 0.55m) ENE-W. A large clump of briars obscure the enclosing elements at NE and encroach into the interior. There is a possible entrance (Wth c. 6m) at ENE-E. The interior slopes down very gently to ENE and is featureless. There are potentially faint traces of an outer fosse W-NNW. A field boundary (long-axis E-W) is c. 4m to N, a second field boundary (long-axis N-S) is c. 5m to E, a third field boundary (long-axis N-S) is c. 9m to W and a fourth field boundary (long-axis E-W) squares off this field further to S. There is a small, flat-roofed corrugated shed c. 4.5m to NE of the monument, in the NE corner of this field
