What is recorded here

On a slightly elevated area of a gentle S-facing slope, in improved, gently undulating pasture and overlooking Lecarrow Lough c. 390m to S. Depicted on the OS 25-inch map as an oval area (c. 23 m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by a scarp. The monument is engulfed by impenetrable overgrowth of thorn trees thickets and briars, except around the NW arc which is grass covered and defined by a scarp (Wth 1.2m; H 0.3m). It was not feasible to record any other definition of the enclosing elements due to the dense growth which obscures this monument. There is a naturally formed valley to the immediate E. Enclosure (CL035-070----) is located c. 70m to NW. The following images have been uploaded: CL035-071----_01.jpg From W. General view of monument. CL035-071----_02.jpg From NE. Cross sectional view of scarp at NW. CL035-071----_03.jpg From N. General view of monument. Compiled by: Mary Tunney, Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 10 April 2018
