On a very gentle E-facing slope in improved, reseeded pasture with rock outcrop close to the surface. Depicted on the 1841 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (45m NW-SE; 43m NE-SW) truncated by a field boundary (long-axis NW-SE) across the NE sector and by a field boundary (long-axis NE-SW) at N. Not depicted on the OS 25-inch map or the 1921 OS 6-inch map, however the area of the monument is enclosed by a curvilinear field boundary SW-N. The monument is not visible at ground level. There is a large surface depression in the area of the monument, off-centre to E. A curvilinear field boundary which is depicted as enclosing the monument SW-N on later OS mapping and modern aerial photography (Bing 2012), has been removed.
