On a SE-facing slope, in an area of native woodland surrounded by pasture, except to NW where there are other small pockets of woodland. This monument is situated at the eastern edge of the woodland boundary. According to Westropp (1908-09, 391), ‘There is another holy well dedicated to St Mochuille in the townland of Fertanbeg, at which stations continue to be performed.’ Depicted on all OS historic mapping and named ‘Tobermochulla’. Not visible at ground level. A very poorly drained area where various springs rise and create various pools of water lodging and run-off downslope. Poached by livestock across surface of woodland due to poorly drained nature of ground. A children’s burial ground (CL035-031001-) is located c. 34m to SW.
