What is recorded here

This feature, named ‘Cromlech’ on the 1840 edition of the OS 6-inch map stood on a generally level area of a gentle SW-facing slope in pasture with reasonable views of the surrounding landscape. Described by Westropp (1902-04, 113, no. 25h) as having been removed which concurs with the OS 25-inch map, where it is named ‘Cromlech (site of)’. On inspection in 2017 there were no visible remains of any such feature at ground level. A levelled enclosure (CL035-013001-) is located c. 5m to N and a standing stone (CL035-013003-) formerly stood c. 22m to E.
