What is recorded here

On a slight natural platform. Listed as 'House - 17th century' in the RMP (1996). A rectangular five-bay structure of two storeys over basement, now in ruins. It faces SW with an Italianate portico, and there are two projecting wings on the NE side. Just to the N are associated walled gardens and an orchard. Reputedly of 17th-century origin, the house was rebuilt after a fire in the 19th century (Spellissy 1987, 59) but no early features are evident, and no early history known.
