What is recorded here

Situated on the W wall of the S transept of Ennis Friary (CL033-082001-) in an area which once had a much higher floor level. A wall monument at this location commemorated the Gore family. It disintegrated over time and with the family’s permission (as remains were visible) it was removed and the remains were reinterred. A 19th-century plaque bearing the Gore name remains at the original location and the outline of the former wall monument can be seen. The location within the transept as well as the name and date are cited on a plan by Westropp as ‘Gore, from 1694’. (Westropp 1895, 139) CL033-082026-_01.jpg attached.
