What is recorded here

Marked as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on the 1842 and 1921 eds. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on an undulating landscape. By the 1980s it had been reduced to a stretch of wall at S (L c. 30m; Wth c. 2m; H c. 1-8m) (Rynne 1995, 171-2) which still survives as an overgrown stoney mound (c. 30m E-W; 8-9m N-S; H 2-2.7m) but no facing stones are visible. Archaeological testing c. 10m S of this failed to produce any related material (Crumlish 1999, 17). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 April 2017
