Situated on a steep cliff-edge c. 450m S of Lahinch beach backing onto a NE-SW cliff. A subcircular enclosure, reported to the National Monuments Service by Matthew Kelly. It is visible on historical Google Earth satellite imagery (21 January 2010) as a subrectangular enclosure (c. 15m NE-SW; 11m NW-SE) defined by a bank and possible fosse. The curving banks of another cliff-edge fort (CL023-001----) are visible c. 100m to the NE. These are named 'Doonmeave' on the OS 6-inch maps and are almost completely ploughed out. The smaller cliff-edge fort is located at the highest point along the cliff-edge and a trigonometrical point is shown there on the 1840 OS map (99ft). It is possible that Doonmeave encircled this whole area centred on the highest point but the smaller fort may also be a discrete monument of later date.
