In the SE sector of a large early ecclesiastical enclosure (CL017-094001-). Westropp (1915, 272) noted: ‘two holes in the field [near the entrance] mark a souterrain’, adding ‘I am told that, when it was excavated long since by Col. Marcus Paterson, of Clifden, and Mr. Robert Foster, of Rinroe, it was traced under the ring [of the ecclesiastical enclosure] into the garth, but no antiquities were discovered’. No surface trace was visible when inspected in 1999, the area being overgrown with bushes and with only some loose stones visible. A graveyard (CL017-094003-) containing a church (CL017-094002-) is located c. 25m to the NW.
